Security Simulation Conducted by Trustwave
Trustwave recently announced that the Senior Vice President of SpiderLabs contributed to a real-time simulated data exploitation of an online payment system at the Visa Global Security Summit. Trustwave is a large information data and compliance solutions organization and one of the largest overall sponsors of this event.
Notable Attendees
The company acted as a forensic investigator accompanied by a representative from the PCI Security Council Standards, a former Federal Trade Commission Chairman and former Massachusetts Attorney General. The simulation occurred on Wednesday, April 27th, 2011 at 3:15 PM EDT in Washington, DC. The practice was led by the principal of the Chertoff Group who is also a former director of NASA and the CIA.

A broadcast of the simulation will soon be available on Visa’s Security Summit website. Recently, another employee at SpiderLabs competed against several students in a mock attack on payment systems. This exercise was took place at the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition. The goal of the participants was to display the roles of the public and private sectors in addition to law enforcement in the security role.
