New Data Center in Kansas
Industry-leading data center operator, Quality Technology Services, recently announced it plans to expand its presence to Lenexa, Kansas after purchasing the previously leased building. This move comes after a major increase in the company’s revolving credit by $45 million for a total credit line of $170 million. Also, the company will invest $20 million of its own money to upgrade the power systems, space and connectivity currently available at the location.
Improving the Current Specifications
This expansion wills more than the current floor space of 40,000 square feet while increasing the N +1 configured power up to five times as much. Also, the new facility will allow the company to provide custom data center, colocation and cloud services to its current managed service offerings.
Advantages of the New Location
Customers will have these options by connecting the new location to the carrier-neutral QTS Overland Park Data Center through a diversity of network connections. This will immediately create redundant synchronous replication capabilities between the two locations. Therefore, an extra layer of security and backup will be developed. The facility will also feature 24 hour physical and digital security with a fenced-in perimeter and gated entry to ensure the highest level of customer privacy.
Statement from the CEO
In a recent statement by the CEO of QTS, he stated that the company has seen incredible growth as a result of building and managing state-of-the-art, fully redundant data center facilities. Furthermore, QTS is committed to becoming the premier data center organization in the Kansas City area.
Hitting New Markets
The company is also experiencing an increase in market demand outside the traditional top tier data center clientele. The new expansion into Lenexa will deliver additional opportunities for clients seeking high-density data facilities in the Midwest region. Additionally, the expansion will create and enhance options for current customers of QTS considering expanding the Internet presence through cloud and managed web hosting services.
Additional Construction
Over the last three financial quarters, QTS has finished the expansions of its Atlanta metro and Santa Clara data centers while continuing building its Richmond and Jersey City expansions. With the announcement of the new Kansas location, the company is developing a presence in all areas of the United States.
This data center facility will greatly compliment the current Overland Park location. New and current customers will continue to receive the best service and latest technologies as QTS continues to invest in its current facilities and purchase new data centers.Popular LinksCategories: Hosting News |
