Intel Xeon E7-4800 Servers Hit the Market

As one of the leading web hosting providers, it is expected that SoftLayer Technologies be up-to-date on the latest and greatest technology available. The company has done exactly that by being the first provider to offer the Intel Xeon E7-4800 servers. In a recent announcement, the company stated that these processors are now available for use by their customers. Ironically, this announcement came only a week after SoftLayer launched its referral program.

First in the Industry

According to the press release, SoftLayer is the first web hosting provider to use these advanced Intel-based servers which are said to increase memory, input/output capacity and scalability. The Xeon E7-4800 processor is optimized for virtualization on a large scale with mission critical applications and high performance.

Keeping up with Technology

The Chief Operating Officer of SoftLayer recognized that their customers push technology equipment to the limit. Therefore, it is of first priority that the company provides the newest and highest performing products upon immediate release. The E7-4800 caters to the demands of all resource-eating applications while bringing the features customers need for real-world, real-time business issues. This new equipment should help them adapt to an ever-changing computing environment.

Benefits of the E7-4800

This series of processor boasts 32nm process technology with up to ten 10 cores per processor. The E7-4800 also utilizes advanced power management capabilities, improved memory reliability with partial memory mirroring and double device data correction. Furthermore, security is supported through Intel Trusted Execution Technology.

Due to the high demands of their customers, SoftLayer will be able to harness the performance capabilities of the new processors to give them the competitive edge with progressive and innovative technology.

Equipment Availability

SoftLayer will now feature record-breaking computing power. The Intel Xeon processor E7 family produces enhanced security matched with reliability features. The Xeon E7-4800-based servers are currently available at SoftLayer in the Quad Processor 8-core and Quad Processor 10-core configurations.

With so much competition in the web hosting industry, it can be difficult to get ahead of providers. Through the use of technology and an excellent advertising campaign, SoftLayer is doing just that. The company is making their mark on the web hosting industry by continuing to offer the newest and highest performing technologies. If you are a webmaster or website owner with a large amount of traffic, you will see a significant difference in performance and reliability.
