Advertisements on free hosting accounts are included with a free subscription.  These ads have been noted to be intrusive to some sites, according to some disgruntle users.  While account holders have the ability to post their own ads in order to generate revenue, ads are also placed by Bravenet in order to recoup their expenses for offering free web hosting services.  Bravenet posts ads in both the coding of a web page and pop up ads which can be offensive to some visitors landing on the particular page.

Conclusion

While Bravenet may not top the list of best free web hosting services available, it certainly is not the worst.  For novice web designers, Bravenet offers the basic tools and space to launch a web presence.  Bravenet serves an important role in the web host community in that it allows novice web designers to develop skills with a low to no cost solution for websites to accommodate a wide range of needs.
