As 2011 engulfs the world, if you own an ecommerce business, you should already begin thinking about ideas for the New Year. Since most professionals went back to work on Monday, you need to have a game plan in place for 2011. There are many great new ideas in the ecommerce industry and a few reminders that should be continued.

There are eight excellent ecommerce tips for 2011 including:

The first tip is to build links on a daily basis. Review your analytics and identify the three highest converting keywords. Then build one link to each of these keywords per day. This is the number one revenue focused action. Many website operators find that the majority of their profit is generated through search engines.

The next tip is to verify keywords by match type in AdWords. If the keyword is not surrounded by quotation marks, it is set to the broad field which indicates that keyword is appearing in many more searches than you think. This will help you target specific customers. Another guideline is to always review your analytics. This is a great method to learn how individuals are finding your website. That way you will be able to create relevant landing pages and information on popular keywords.

Additionally, always give customers the ability to upload photos of the product they have purchased. Potential buyers enjoy seeing the product in regular use as a type of proof. This will go a long way. Also, take full advantage of the mobile device explosion. This includes optimizing ecommerce stores for the mobile web and making them easy to use on a mobile phone.

Furthermore, showcase your sales prices by testing their placement and design on product pages. Sale prices should stand out from all other prices on the page. Also, differentiate by offering exclusive products. Sell items in your store that are not offered at hundreds of other ecommerce businesses. Finally, always request feedback from your customers so you know how satisfied they are.

These tips should help you improve sales in 2011. Most are common sense but always remember the customer comes first. Therefore, everything in the shopping process should be as easy as possible with little hassle.
