GigaTux is a rapidly growing dedicated hosting company, launched in February 2007. GigaTux presently has high powered servers situated in a secure location in Maidenhead, just outside London. This location offers very impressive connectivity, with a very low latency, high bandwidth connection. This website is hosted on a GigaTux server using a Virtual Private Server product. GigaTux believes in offering an honestly priced service, with no compromises on important aspects that matter to you: reliable storage, quality bandwidth and excellent customer service. GigaTux is an agile company and is able to offer decent packages to meet your needs, fully customisable by ourselves. All support is based in the UK with our main offices in Milton Keynes and London, not that regional location need matter too much when there is a top-class, competent customer service to back our networking services!
* Our Linux hosting servers use Intel Xeon E55xx processors (very similar to the Intel Core i7) with four hard drives arranged in RAID10 for redundancy and speed. Most importantly, all systems are monitored to ensure sufficent CPU time for each user, and all four cores can be made available for free on request.
* Network connectivity is provided by a several connections for fail-over.
* Your UK VPS is hosted on servers in a secure location in Maidenhead, on one of the fastest networks in the world according to speedtest.net. Feel free to download sample files from two of our servers, Legion VPS and Emohawk VPS.
* Virtualisation technology is provided by Xen 3.4, a well proven solution for managing virtual private server isolation and partitioning of physical resources.

* Your choice of Linux distribution and full root access, including tun/tap and iptables on your Xen VPS hosting package.

I was a bit wary of signing up for a VPS, being a web code geek with no prior Linux or apache experience, but with the support of GigaTux I managed to go from no hosting to self managed hosting in a matter of a couple of days.
The learning curve was steep, but with almost instant support responses all issues were ironed out quickly. In fact most of the setup time was spent researching on various configs.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend GigaTux for those willing to put a little time into their hosting requirements and wanting to save money over shared hosting solutions. And if you already know how to configure a VPS then choosing GigaTux should be a no brainer.
