Company Statement

In 1988, a small German company called 1&1 took over marketing activities for BTX, the troubled online service run by T-Com (a sister company of T-Mobile). The fledgling corporation 1&1 decided to try something innovative – a future trademark of the company – and launched the first major advertising campaign for an online service. The ads took the complex new technology and made it appealing and easy to understand. Interest soared and because of 1&1, BTX became the market leader under its new name – T-Online.

Dont Do It!

I have been using iPage but wanted to get a little more oomph so I thought that I would try 1&1. I signed up on Thursday thinking that I would be provisioned in 24 hours (per their website). On Friday having heard nothing I called and they said that it would be between 24-48 hours. On Saturday, having heard nothing, I sent two notes to their 7x24 support. On Sunday, still having heard nothing, I sent an email to Sales asking that my registration be canceled. Turnaround obviously sucks, communication sucks, and they dont seem to have the 7x24 hour support the advertise.

I don't recommend this web host!

I wish I found the review above before I purchased from them. It's been a week and my domain is still in registration pending status even though they have control of the domain and my contact info shows up when I do a whois. I can't change the DNS or unlock or anything else with the domain. Sent a letter to the Better Business Bureau and ICANN so far. I will never work with them again.

I recommend this web host!

Stay away from this company unless you so desire to interact with the better business bureau. Research 1&1.com on there and behold their F rating. I was a customer once and now NEVER. Buyer beware
